Not-for-profit organizations, public-sector employers, and private businesses with 50 or fewer full-time employees can apply to hire youth aged 15–30 for quality summer jobs. Verify current eligibility and intake dates on the official ESDC page.
Not-for-profit employers can receive up to 100% of the provincial or territorial adult minimum wage; private and public-sector employers can receive up to 50%. The subsidy applies to the funded employee’s hours during the agreed period.
Applications open during an annual intake window, typically in winter, for jobs that run the following summer. Exact dates change each year — we surface the live intake on the brief and link the official source.
It is a non-repayable wage subsidy — you are reimbursed for an agreed share of the youth employee’s wages. It is not a loan. Final amounts depend on hours worked and the wage rate.
